Vacation as a Small Business Owner

Vacation and downtime from work are incredibly valuable.  They can also be incredibly hard to make happen when you own your own business. Despite the challenges that come along with taking time away from your business, making vacations happen should be a priority for every small business owner and creative entrepreneur. Prioritize Your Time Off The first step to having a vacation or some downtime is that you must prioritize this time for yourself.  I'm a firm believer in the idea that we don't "have" time for things.  We MAKE time for what is valuable to us.  Having downtime away from your business is one of the first ways you can avoid burnout.  It's also necessary for the creative process.  That time you take to [...]

Appalachian Artist Video Series – The Handcrafted Cooperative

West Virginia has long been home to some of the most creative and innovative artists in the United States.  This year, we're starting a video series to feature some of those artists: the Appalachian Artist Series.  We'll partner with a new artist each quarter and share what they're working on in our area. Megan Ursic - The Handcrafted Cooperative Megan is an up and coming artist in the Morgantown area.  In addition to her own skills, she is working to promote others through her marketplace events.  The Handcrafted Cooperative is a seasonal retail market designed to provide opportunities to artisans and makers in the area, as well as improve the local economy and keep Morgantown unique. She also hosts MakeShops: pop up classes where she [...]

2018 Waynesburg University | Video Production

Last year we worked with Waynesburg University to produce a series of video projects.  WU has a robust marketing department, a clear vision for their campaigns, and an existing collection of photo and video assets to be used for their projects. Nursing Student Mission Trip We started off the year traveling with the nursing department as they spent their spring break on New Providence Island, holding a healthcare clinic for residents in an underprivileged neighborhood. Students gathered necessary over the counter medications, vitamins, and other healthcare supplies and delivered them to those in need through a week of healthcare clinics hosted by a neighborhood church.  Even basic healthcare items are very expensive to purchase on the island, and the need for qualified healthcare professionals is [...]

Corporate Video Production | WV PA OH MD Video Services

Marketing departments are kings of multitasking.  Often given shoestring budgets and lofty goals, they've gotten creative at making things work. The growing market sector of video has increased the demand for high-quality video.  You're faced with the option of splitting your marketing budget between another employee (or team of employees) designated solely to video production, or spending toward video assets and ad time. For many small and mid-range marketing departments, the cost of another employee alone would wipe out their entire marketing budget.  Even if you already have a talented individual on your team who is up for the challenge of tackling the learning curve of video, purchasing the gear needed to make a quality video will demolish your budget. Quality Video Production Let's talk [...]
